Woman Commits Theft Minutes After Release from Custody
A 29-year-old woman, Krystal Tippins, pleaded guilty to theft and committing an indictable offence whilst on bail in the Warrnambool Magistrates' Court.
According to police prosecutor Senior Constable Michael Timmons, the incident occurred on August 24, 2023, when a victim attempted to withdraw $200 from an ATM at 4:40pm but had trouble and left to seek help.
The woman then approached the ATM, selected a prompt on the screen, and took the discharged money, consisting of four $50 notes, which she put in her purse before leaving the venue.
The lawyer told the court she was now a 'very different person'
Tippins' lawyer stated that she was not thinking at the time of the incident.
