The Seattle Storm have agreed to sign New York Liberty assistant coach Sonia Raman to a multi-year deal to become the new head coach, sources told ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Raman previously worked as an assistant for the New York Liberty and Memphis Grizzlies. She got her start coaching women's basketball at MIT.
Raman worked under then-head coach Sandy Brondello for the 2025 season after spending 2020-2024 as an assistant with the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies.
She will make history as the first person of Indian descent to be a head coach in the WNBA.
Something that informs her coaching.
