Rebecca Orwin Discusses Her Debut Novel
Rebecca Orwin's debut middle-grade novel, The Monsters at the End of the World, was acquired by Puffin in a six-figure deal.
Orwin shares her experience, saying
"It didn’t feel very real,"when she landed the deal.
Her novel, to be published in January, features black and white illustrations by Oriol Vidal. Orwin, a lifelong book-lover, studied for a Masters in Creative Writing before pursuing her author dreams.
She notes that
"You need the hard work, you need the talent but you also need that little bit of luck."
Orwin's journey to publication included writing five books before getting an agent and landing the deal with her sixth book.
