A new UK series, Ketchup, billed as a cross between Benidorm, Cheers, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, is set to explore cultural clashes, expat misadventures, and illusions of life abroad.
Starring and directed by Kevin McNally, known for roles in Pirates of the Caribbean, Life on Mars, and The Crown, the show will resonate with expats who arrive in Spain with dreams of sunshine and sangria, only to find things rather different.
McNally is joined by Sandra Dickinson, who played Trillian in the cult 1981 BBC series The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.
Ketchup will chime with every expat who arrives in Spain with dreams of sunshine and sangria and immersing themselves in the Spanish way of life – only to find things rather different.
Filming got off to a good start this autumn.
