Honoring Darren McFadden's Legacy
The Arkansas football team has introduced a No. 5 jersey patch to honor Darren McFadden, a legendary player in the team's history.
Only two numbers have been retired in Arkansas football history: Brandon Burlsworth's 77 and Clyde Scott's 12. However, McFadden's number will be honored, not retired, and a patch will be added to both the offensive and defensive jerseys.
- The patch features McFadden's silhouette and his initials, D.M.
- This season, the patch is worn by defensive tackle Cam Ball and wide receiver Ja'Kayden Ferguson.
It's a conversation piece, said McFadden, the Doak Walker Award winner and Heisman Trophy runner-up in 2006 and 2007.
McFadden was honored on the field during Arkansas' game against Texas A&M.
