The Most Original Show of Frieze Week: Eric Butcher 'Shadow Archive'

There are plenty of impressive shows timed to coincide with Frieze. However, Eric Butcher's solo exhibition 'Shadow Archive' at GPS Gallery is arguably the most original currently on view.
Butcher's work has gained recognition, including the recent win of the Evelyn Williams Drawing Award and the Royal West of England Academy Award for the best work in its Annual Open Exhibition in Bristol.
His process-driven art, with exacting attention to materials and method of application, is abstract and minimalist in aesthetic yet rich in background content.
