A Portland husband and father has been jailed for tormenting his family for six months, after his wife and three sons overpowered him.
The man, who cannot be named, pleaded guilty to family violence-related offences in the Portland Magistrates' Court on October 14, 2025.
He had previously faced court for breaking his wife's ribs and had served 109 days in pre-sentence detention.
The court considered him a high risk of re-offending, but found him suitable for a community correction order (CCO) with judicial monitoring.
His lawyer argued that the time served and CCO were an appropriate sentence.
