Marine Communications Experts Compete in Inaugural Thunderstruck Competition

Marine communication experts participated in Thunderstruck, a first-of-its-kind contest of field radio and combat skills.

A team of four Marines from the headquarters regiment of 1st Marine Logistics Group emerged as winners among 15 squads in the inaugural Marine Corps-wide field communications competition.

The Thunderstruck Communications Team Competition

was hosted by 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, and run by Marine Wing Communication Squadron 38. The competition tested teams of Marines operating radios, networks, and communications gear in the field.

The winning team demonstrated exceptional skills, earning the top spot in the contest.
