Two companies, A.T. Lee Properties Limited and LJH Property Limited, were fined a total of over £95,000 after a builder was impaled on machinery during an accident.

The incident occurred on July 8, 2022, at Cirteq Ltd in Keighley, where the victim was working on over-cladding an existing asbestos cement roof with two other operatives.

Despite the horrific circumstances, he sustained relatively minor injuries.

An HSE investigation found that principal contractor A.T. Lee Properties Limited was responsible for the accident.

Directors for each firm were also given conditional discharges and ordered to pay prosecution costs.
