Bob Ross Paintings to be Auctioned
American Public Television's Create multicast channel is set to receive a boost from the auction of 30 Bob Ross original paintings.
The paintings, which will be sold over the next three years, were created by Ross on his series The Joy of Painting. The proceeds from the auction will help offset station licensing fees.
My head started ticking away, like, 'Well, this many paintings would equal this much, and this many paintings would equal this much,'
Joan Kowalski, president of Bob Ross Inc., conceived the idea for the sale after two privately held Ross paintings were sold by Bonhams for around $100,000 each in August.
