Green Mountain Race Track Property to be Auctioned
The Green Mountain Race Track in Pownal, Vt., which opened in 1963, will be put up for auction in January.
The track initially hosted thoroughbred and harness racing, but switched to greyhound racing in the 1970s before closing in 1992.
A foreclosure auction has been scheduled for the 144-acre property, with mortgage-holder Bayview Loan Servicing planning a real estate auction at 11 a.m. on January 7.
The property has suffered damage, including a 2020 fire that gutted the grandstand interior.
The track will be sold at a foreclosure auction in January.
