Snowmaking Operations Begin
Ski resorts in Colorado, including A-Basin, Keystone, and Loveland, have started their snowmaking operations, marking the countdown to the ski season.
Our snowmakers are people who are passionate about the ski and snowboard community... They'll go to South America, and they'll hike fourteeners to ski every month of the year.
Crews use digital monitors to measure wet-bulb temperature, which combines air temperature and humidity levels, to create ideal snowmaking conditions.
Snowmaking operations typically take place at night or early in the morning, with the first round occurring from Sunday night to Monday morning at Arapahoe Basin, Keystone Resort, and Loveland Ski Area.
