Weeks after a children's birthday party in the upscale Sydney suburb of Vaucluse erupted into a shouting match, tensions have escalated into a full-blown conflict involving lawyers.
The conflict is between Danielle Plaskitt, who runs a pony party business from Sydney’s semi-rural northwest, and D'Leanne Lewis, a real estate agent in the eastern suburbs. Lewis shared footage of their unusual confrontation at her daughter Lyra’s third birthday on Instagram, where she has 70,000 followers.
“Get away from my ponies, now!” Plaskitt shouted, appearing sharp and abrasive while Lewis carried Lyra away.
The viral video painted Plaskitt in a negative light, but she explained last week that she only lost her temper because some guests were “obstructive and difficult,” her company’s terms and conditions were ignored, and her team lacked proper parking.
Following our exclusive report, both parties are now considering legal steps, with Lewis already issuing a cease-and-desist letter. The disagreement began after Lewis, through a party planner, booked My Pony Party for entertainment at Lyra’s birthday held on September 28 at Kimberley Reserve in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
This escalating dispute highlights how a children’s party can quickly turn into a legal battle centered on event management and social media fallout.
