A flood alert has been put in place for Swindon as several days of rain are forecast for the region. Continuous rainfall hit the town on Sunday evening and Monday morning, and forecasts suggest wet weather will continue through Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.
The alert currently covers parts of Wiltshire, particularly Lower Stratton and Kestrel Drive, where flooding of low-lying land and roads is possible.
“We expect river levels to begin rising overnight on November 9 and to peak before falling again tomorrow morning. Further rainfall is forecast over the coming days. We are closely monitoring the situation. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water.”
The advisory was issued by a government spokesperson urging caution for residents.
Residents are encouraged to stay informed and contact Floodline at 0345 988 1188 for updates and safety guidance.
