2026 League of Legends International Events Announced

Riot Games has revealed the official venues for the 2026 League of Legends Esports international tournaments, blending returning hosts with new cities.

First Stand in São Paulo

The first international event of 2026, First Stand, will be held in São Paulo, Brazil, from March 16 to 22. This tournament features five teams from each region competing for the opening international title.

“Brazil has one of our most passionate player bases,” said Chris Greeley, director of LoL Esports. He expressed excitement about seeing São Paulo come alive again for League of Legends, noting the last international LoL event in Brazil was in 2017.

All matches in First Stand will be played in a best-of-five format.

Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) in Daejeon

The Mid-Season Invitational returns to South Korea, this time hosted in Daejeon, the country's fifth-largest city. Eleven teams from various regions will compete, with only one team advancing from the Play-ins to the Bracket Stage.

The double-elimination format will be maintained “to ensure every match will have enough attention,” according to Greeley.

Worlds 2026 in Texas and New York City

The 2026 World Championship will take place across two major locations in the United States. The Play-ins, Swiss Stage, and Knockout Stage will be hosted in Texas, while the Grand Finals will be held in New York City.
