Dave Doeren Confirms Commitment to NC State
Throughout Dave Doeren's 13-year tenure at NC State, the football program has experienced consistent but limited success. Since taking over in 2013, the Wolfpack have won between seven and nine games every season except one from 2014 to 2023, but never exceeded nine wins. Each nine-win season earned the team an AP Top 25 ranking.
Despite approaching the ACC Championship game several times, NC State has yet to make the trip from Raleigh to Charlotte for the title contest. This steady pattern of solid performance often leads to coaching changes, as seen elsewhere:

- Minnesota fired Glen Mason after six bowl appearances in seven years, only to appear in two bowls in the following five seasons.
However, Doeren remains steadfast in his role and shows no signs of quitting. Reflecting on his current mindset, he told ESPN's Inside ACCess podcast:
"I'm having a blast. I have four years left on my contract, I fully expect to coach in. So unless they kick me out of here, I'm going to keep coming to work and doing everything I can to help NC State. There's meat on the bone for me, personally."
Doeren's outlook suggests he is focused on building on his foundation rather than seeking retirement or departure.
