Mail shipments from Bermuda to Canada will restart next week despite the ongoing rotating strike at Canada Post. A spokeswoman for the Bermuda Post Office (BPO) confirmed that shipments to Canada will resume on Monday.
However, she warned that delivery delays are still possible due to ongoing disruptions caused by the strike. She stated:
“The BPO appreciates the public’s patience and co-operation during this time.”
Mail delivery from Bermuda to Canada was halted in late September following a nationwide strike at Canada Post. Last month, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers shifted from a national strike to a rotating strike pattern, allowing mail services to partially resume.
The Bermuda Post Office also announced that all local post offices will close at noon tomorrow for a staff event. The spokeswoman added:
“The BPO apologises for any inconvenience this early closure may cause.”
