A boat will be allowed to be moored on a Mid Wales lake as a holiday let after receiving planning approval. The boat, accompanied by a jetty, will be located on the north shore of Pen Y Clawdd Pool at Llanbister Road, Llandrindod Wells.
Alongside the boat, a shed will be constructed and an access track created to reach the pool, which spans 1.82 hectares and is used for commercial recreational fishing.
Mr. Morgan of The Farm, Dutlas near Knighton, applied for the permission to use the boat as a holiday let on this popular fishing lake.
[translate:Pen y Clawdd fishing pool is an upland lake of 4.5 acres situated on moorland a few miles west of Knighton. It is 1200 feet altitude so possibly one of the highest carp lakes in the UK.]
The boat will serve as a holiday let, equipped with toilet and washing facilities. It will have timber boarding walls and a flat roof with profiled metal sheeting. Sewage and grey water will be managed by transferring them to a treatment plant and drainage field.
Access to the holiday let will be via an existing gateway connected to a narrow, unclassified single-vehicle-width road.
The boat mooring is expected to create one part-time job opportunity.
