Shoshana Bean, former Broadway star of Wicked, shared why she has yet to watch the first film in the franchise, Wicked: Part 1, even though its sequel, Wicked: For Good, is premiering soon.
At the Hulaween Gala in New York City on October 24, Bean explained her decision to delay watching the first movie until both films can be seen together.
“I waited until the second, so I could watch them back-to-back,” said Bean, 48, expressing excitement to experience the movies consecutively.
Bean portrayed Elphaba on Broadway from 2005 to 2006, making her deeply connected to the story and characters.
One aspect Bean is particularly eager about is seeing the song “No Good Deed” brought to life on the big screen.
“It’s a very cinematic song, and I would love to see it have more life than what a stage is capable of doing,” Bean said. “I could not even possibly imagine to the extent that Jon Chu’s genius can dream, can create.”
Shoshana Bean looks forward to watching the Wicked films together, anticipating how the cinematic version will enhance songs like “No Good Deed,” showcasing the director's creative vision.
