Alex Vesia, the 29-year-old Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher, and his wife Kayla shared heartbreaking news on November 7. Their daughter, Sterling Sol Vesia, was stillborn.
"There are no words to describe the pain we’re going through but we hold her in our hearts and cherish every second we had with her."
Posting on Instagram with a photo of their hands over their daughter's, the couple called her "Our little angel" and expressed their eternal love and presence:
"We love you forever & you’re with us always."
Their daughter passed away on Sunday, October 29.
The Vesias also expressed deep gratitude toward the Dodgers organization, especially following their World Series victory against the Toronto Blue Jays on November 1:
"Our baseball family showed up for us and we wouldn’t be able to do this without them."
They thanked fans and teams for their outpouring of support:
