WCC Congratulates Church of the Lord Worldwide on 100-Year Anniversary
The World Council of Churches (WCC) general secretary, Rev. Dr. Jerry Pillay, extended congratulations to the Church of the Lord Worldwide on reaching its centennial milestone.
“This is indeed a wonderful milestone in the life of the church, one which your fellow members in the World Council of Churches are delighted to join,” said Pillay.
The Church of the Lord Worldwide will celebrate in Ogere Remo with days filled with praise and worship, fellowship, food, music, and lectures.
“You have revived and enlivened and enriched the practice of our faith,” said Pillay. “Such is also the contemporary quest of so many Christian communities of many regions in the wake of colonialism and in face of a relentless globalization of economics and culture.”
Pillay expressed gratitude for the church's century of dedicated and faithful witness.
“Again, congratulations and blessings on this milestone achievement,” said Pillay. “May God, Almighty, continue to sustain and grow your witness and ministries in the world.”
