The stars of Taylor Sheridan’s television series “Landman” arrived at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth on November 6 to celebrate the screening of the Season 2 premiere. The Fort Worth Film Commission hosted the event in partnership with the Lone Star Film Festival.
Although Academy Award-winning actor Billy Bob Thornton did not grow up in Fort Worth, he considers it his favorite American city. He expressed admiration for the area’s Western spirit and for its role as the main filming location for the new season of “Landman.”
“For years and years, it was kind of the little sister to the big sister, and Fort Worth is really getting its due now,” Thornton said.
Alongside Thornton, actors Sam Elliott, Paulina Chávez, Michelle Randolph, and James Jordan attended the red carpet premiere. While co-creator Taylor Sheridan was absent, his wife Nicole Muirbrook represented him at the event.
“Landman” tells the story of Tommy Norris, played by Thornton, who is caught between corporate energy negotiations, landowner deals, and family drama. The show delves into the complex relationships linking oil executives, cartel members, and workers across the Permian Basin.
