Riley Keough believes she has received signs from her late mother, Lisa Marie Presley, suggesting she is at peace with how her memoir, From Here to the Great Unknown, turned out. The actress completed the book after her mother’s death in 2023, using tapes Lisa Marie had recorded about her life and memories.
Keough, known for her role in Daisy Jones & The Six, said she often senses her mother’s presence while working on the project.
"I think if you're open to those things, they're kind of everywhere," Keough told PEOPLE. "I really do believe that."
"So, I certainly feel connected to whatever that world may be. I do feel connected to it, yeah. There are certainly moments that are very... too weird to not be something."
While Keough did not detail specific experiences, she mentioned that she would explore them more deeply in a new heartfelt afterword included in the paperback edition of the memoir, set for release on November 11 by Penguin Random House.
Andrea Mandell, Senior Editor of Entertainment Projects at PEOPLE magazine since 2022, helped oversee coverage of the memoir’s development, along with other entertainment projects, film festivals, and awards.
Riley Keough says she continues to feel her mother Lisa Marie Presley’s spiritual presence as she finalizes the memoir they began together, calling the connection “too strange not to be real.”
