Scotiabank Commits J$165 Million for Hurricane Relief in Jamaica
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Scotiabank has pledged a total of approximately J$165 million to aid relief and recovery efforts following the extensive damage caused by Hurricane Melissa.
Financial Contributions and Support
CAD$400,000 (about J$48 million) donated by the Scotiabank Foundation to assist relief and rebuilding initiatives across Jamaica.
Additional J$100 million committed to back the island’s recovery and bolster economic resilience.
Scotia Group employees are organizing care packages valued at nearly J$12 million for affected communities.
The bank will match staff donations up to CAD$50,000 (J$6 million).
