On November 7, Rosalia released her latest album titled Lux, which she described as an exploration of "maximalism" in a conversation with Zane Lowe. The interview aired Thursday on Apple Music.
"I think the best fiction is the one that balances what's personal and what's universal, what's detailed and what's abstract. There has to be truth or meaning, but, at the same time, it's more about the other — if you write from this place, you can sing from this place."
Rosalia explained her creative commitment behind the project:
"I promised myself I was going to make an album where I’d finish every thought, every song, all the way to the end. This is maximalism."
In the track Reliquia, Rosalia sings about losing possession of her own heart, declaring she will become someone’s relic.
Singer Lorde left a comment on Rosalia’s Instagram post announcing the album, writing:
"Ummm, this comes out on my birthday!"
Rosalia’s Lux embodies her artistic vision of maximalism, blending emotion, precision, and personal devotion into a bold and textured soundscape.
