At the Athens Exchange on Thursday, stocks declined as investors showed little enthusiasm despite the new round of corporate earnings in an already volatile environment.
The ATHEX general index dropped to 1,998.38 points, down 0.80% from Wednesday’s 2,014.47 points. The large-cap FTSE-25 index slipped 0.79% to 5,042.06 points, while mid-cap shares managed a small gain of 0.10%.
Changes to the MSCI indexes defined the market mood. Metlen was removed from the MSCI Standard Greece index due to its listing in London, while Cenergy Holdings and Viohalco joined the small-cap index.
Metlen shares sank 5.87%, Cenergy rose 3.24%, and Viohalco gained 5.09%.
In Nicosia, the general index of the Cyprus Stock Exchange slipped 0.13% to close at 280.45 points.
