At the Dolby Theatre taping of “Wicked: One Wonderful Night,” audiences were given a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the show’s magic that didn’t make it to the televised broadcast.
The special event was filmed on September 24 at the Dolby Theatre, where fans of Wicked filled the seats dressed in themed outfits. While the televised version included major highlights, several charming details remained unseen.
The broadcast featured a moving duet of the Judy Garland–Barbra Streisand classic “Happy Days Are Here Again / Get Happy,” performed by Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. However, many smaller backstage and audience moments showcasing the cast’s energy and camaraderie never made it to air.
“Oz may have told us to pay no attention to the man behind the curtain, but that night, the audience got a rare look at the magic on the other side.”
This behind-the-scenes look at “Wicked: One Wonderful Night” reveals the hidden energy, audience involvement, and spontaneous joy that never appeared on screen.
