Despite losing their last two home-and-away games, favorable outcomes in other matches secured the Eagles a spot in the top eight. This set up an elimination final rematch against Carlton, who defeated them in the final round, with the match scheduled in Melbourne on Saturday.
Daisy Pearce’s Experience and Outlook
Pearce, who captained Melbourne to a premiership in the AFLW's seventh season, recently had the chance to see the premiership cup up close during a tour at a local primary school.
“We don’t sit and actively talk about it as part of our day-to-day, but I’m not going to squash thoughts about it down or encourage people to not dream big,” Pearce said.
She explained that the cup represents more than just winning; it symbolizes being the most connected, skilled, and hardworking team.
“If someone walked up and said ‘do you want to have this cup’, it probably wouldn’t bring a lot of satisfaction."

Pearce acknowledged it’s natural for players' minds to wander towards the prize but expects them to quickly refocus on the immediate challenges ahead.
