Brookmans Park Street Wins £1 Million in People’s Postcode Lottery
Seven neighbours in Brookmans Park will share a £1 million prize from the People's Postcode Lottery. The winning postcode, AL9 6PT, was awarded the weekly "Millionaire Street" prize.
Prize Distribution
- Two households with three tickets each won £249,999.
- One household with two tickets won £166,666.
- Four households with one ticket each won £83,333.
Charity Support Pledge
Steven Bean, 52, one of the triple-ticket winners, promised to donate a portion of his £250,000 prize to support a local charity caring for adults with learning difficulties.
“The first thing I’m going to do is give some money to a charity who had a bus stolen and burned.”
On October 9, Camphill Milton Keynes reported its only minibus was stolen and later found torched. Steven added:
“The bus is insured, but it won’t cover the cost of getting a new one.
Hopefully other people will give them a few quid too.”
Charity Response
Camphill’s head of development, Lucy Davies, described the incident as very distressing, especially for the residents.
“It has been a very difficult time for our residents who have found this situation very confusing and upsetting.”
