Prince Harry has dismissed allegations that his recent announcement was intended to overshadow his brother, Prince William. The Duke of Sussex’s spokesman rejected the idea that the timing of Harry’s upcoming visit to Canada was linked to sibling rivalry.
“The clash was predictable,” noted one royal expert, commenting on the overlapping events of the two royal brothers.
According to Harry’s representatives, the schedule was not coordinated to coincide with William’s Earthshot Prize tour in Brazil. Instead, they explained that the timing was influenced by Harry’s security limitations.
“He is not afforded the same level of security and protection as other working members of the Royal Family. This means the timeframe for announcing his events is much shorter than for His Majesty the King or the Prince of Wales,” said Harry’s spokesman.
Prince William arrived in Rio de Janeiro on Monday to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Earthshot Prize. As he began his activities at the iconic Sugarloaf Mountain, Prince Harry’s office in California announced his visit to Canada ahead of Remembrance Sunday.
Prince Harry dismissed claims of rivalry with his brother, explaining his event timing was due to security limits, not an attempt to overshadow Prince William’s Brazil tour.
