“I was jumped by multiple individuals who tried to steal my jewelry and cause physical harm to me,” Brown stated on social media at the time. “Police temporarily detained me until they received my side of the story and then released me. I WENT HOME THAT NIGHT AND WAS NOT ARRESTED.”

According to an Associated Press report from June, Brown was later named in an arrest warrant. He was accused of taking a handgun from a security guard and firing two shots at a man with whom he had a prior fistfight. The victim told investigators that one bullet grazed his neck.
