The Las Vegas Raiders suffered another setback Thursday night, falling 10–7 to the Denver Broncos as quarterback Geno Smith left the game with an injury.
Smith finished the night with 143 passing yards and an interception. The injury occurred on the first play of the fourth quarter when he attempted to scramble past linebacker Nik Bonitto.
Bonitto made contact with Smith’s right knee, leading the quarterback to stumble awkwardly before being brought down by Malcolm Roach. Moments later, Smith was helped off the field.
Kenny Pickett briefly replaced Smith before he returned to the field, only to be ruled questionable shortly after due to a left quad concern.
The situation worsened as guards Dylan Parham and Jackson Powers-Johnson both exited with ankle injuries.
Coach Pete Carroll reported that Jackson Powers-Johnson will miss extended time on the sidelines.
The Raiders’ offense managed just 188 total yards, marking one of its weakest performances of the season. The defeat drops Las Vegas to a 2–7 record, deepening the struggles in what has been a disappointing campaign.
