Flinders Port Holdings (FPH) is showcasing a custom-built float celebrating maritime trade at the National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant in Adelaide. This float emphasizes the crucial role maritime trade plays in delivering festive joy to South Australians each year.
The National Pharmacies Christmas Pageant, a cherished tradition since 1933, marks the start of the Christmas season in South Australia. It begins at 9:30am on Saturday, 8 November, with the golden whistle signaling its commencement. Thousands of people, both young and old, line the city streets to enjoy the event.
FPH expressed excitement about unveiling their float through social media, stating it is their first custom-built entry in five years. The float features a replica of one of their Pilot boats, accompanied by crew members including straddle carriers, containers, and FPH elves engaged in ticking off Christmas gifts.
“Our float is particularly special—it's the first custom-built float to join the pageant in five years, proudly featuring a replica of one of our Pilot boats, alongside a crew of straddle carriers, containers, and FPH elves ticking off Christmas gifts.”
The design includes a blue fabric ruffle beneath the boat replica, creating the impression of it gliding through water.
The float was officially launched at Outer Harbor, with some FPH elves participating in the event festivities.
The FPH float in Adelaide's Christmas Pageant creatively honors maritime trade's key role in delivering holiday cheer across South Australia.
